Dr. Amerian Sones Appointed Region 4 Rockies/Plains Regional Membership Director
Dr. Amerian Sones has been appointed to the ACP Board of Directors as the Regional Membership Director for Region 4 Rockies/Plains. She will serve for the remainder of the current term, filling the vacancy left by Dr. Diana Pham, who was appointed to the role of Secretary.
Dr. Sones is Clinical Associate Professor at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry in Dallas and prosthodontic faculty in the Department of Comprehensive Dentistry. She is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and served in the United States Public Health Service as Chief Dental Officer. She completed her prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthodontic residency at UCLA School of Dentistry while concurrently receiving her Masters in Oral Biology.
After teaching full time at UCLA School of Dentistry, she developed two solo private prosthodontic practices for over 28 years before entering full time academia in 2012. She is a board-certified prosthodontist, Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, and a member of several other esteemed dental organizations. She has served in leadership positions and serves on a number of committees for the ACP and other dental organizations. As the new Region 4 Membership Director, she looks forward to connection with members and strengthening the value of ACP membership.
"I hope to better understand our members’ needs and create communication channels that amplify the voice of our specialty so we can better serve our patients through the ACP’s mission and vision," said Dr. Sones. "I am grateful for this opportunity as the ACP continues to launch new initiatives that shape our specialty.”
Dr. Sones will complete the remainder of Dr. Pham's term concluding in Nov. 2026.
