Dental implant therapy has become increasingly popular, and peri-implant bone loss is also being reported more frequently. Without a clear restorative strategy, the risk of peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis may increase. This lecture will review principles of ideal implant positioning, their impact on long-term outcomes, and how peri-implant tissues respond to different prosthetic designs based on implant position.
