ACP Webinar: Reconstructing the Worn Dentition with Bonded Ceramics
Presented by Jae Seon Kim, DDS, FACP
This lecture will point out the risk factors in treating patients with worn dentition and lay out the treatment planning process and bonding protocols to reduce restorative failures.
Presented by Jae Seon Kim, DDS, FACP
The prevalence of worn dentition can vary anywhere from 29~100% in adult population with 3% showing severe signs of wear. When patients display signs of occlusal dysfunction in addition to dental erosion, the treatment prognosis can become unpredictable. This can lead to restorations breaking prematurely, unsatisfied patients, and frustrated clinicians. This lecture will point out the risk factors in treating patients with worn dentition and lay out the treatment planning process and bonding protocols to reduce restorative failures.
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Understand the risk in treating patients with severe worn dentition.
- Describe the benefits of an interdisciplinary approach to treating the worn dentition.
- Discuss the importance of bonding all ceramic restorations for eroded dentition.
