2021 Dental Technician Leadership Award: Mr. Matt Winstead

The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Mr. Matt Winstead with the 2021 Dental Technician Leadership Award at the Annual Awards Ceremony during the 51st Annual Session of the ACP, held virtually Oct. 26-30, 2021. This award honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service to the prosthodontic community and furthers the mission of the ACP.

“It is humbling and an honor to receive this award because I could never have been chosen for this award without the work and dedication of those before me and those around me,” said Mr. Winstead. “My father spent his entire working life building a great dental laboratory with an excellent reputation.” This allowed our company to work with some of the most talented dental technicians in our industry, which paved the way for us to collaborate with world renowned clinicians and universities”

Mr. Matt Winstead graduated with a BS Degree in Management from Samford University in 2004 and became a Certified Dental Technician in 2011 specializing in complete dentures. He actively serves on the board of directors for the Huntsville Community Free Dental Clinic and S-Ray Inc., an ultrasonic technology firm. Mr. Winstead has lectured to numerous dental societies and dental schools around the country.

Mr. Winstead succeeds his father, D. Thomas Winstead, in the leadership of the Oral Arts Dental laboratory.
