2025 Resident & Dental Student Digital Poster Competition Abstract Submissions Now Open!

The 2025 Resident & Dental Student Digital Poster Competition submission period is now open! Eligible residents and dental students are invited to submit an abstract to participate in this year's competition taking place at the 2025 Annual Session of the ACP Oct. 22-24, 2025 in New Orleans.

Poster presentations are intended to highlight scholarly activity, promote research, and engage with residents and dental students. Presentation topics may include research results, clinical outcomes, laboratory techniques, or other topics of interest to ACP members and guests.

Overview: Participating residents and dental students will submit an abstract to participate in the digital poster session. Accepted abstracts will submit a digital poster that will be presented live at the 2025 Annual Session in New Orleans. The digital posters presented during the competition will be placed on a dedicated ePoster gallery during and post event.

Competition: There are three competition categories, residents must choose to compete in Original Research or Case Presentation, all predoctoral entries will compete in the Dental Student Competition. Participants will have their posters scored by four judges. Three judges will evaluate the submitted digital poster in advance of the event, and one judge will evaluate the live presentation on site. The combined scores (60% from live presentation, 40% from prejudging) will be calculated and the top 3 in each category will be recognized on the main stage at the conclusion of general session on Friday, Oct. 24.

*John J. Sharry Prosthodontic Research Competition finalists will not be eligible to present in the poster competition. Sharry applicants are encouraged to submit an abstract

Eligibility: Resident applicants must be currently enrolled in a 3-4 year advanced training program in prosthodontics accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Graduates who have completed a CODA-accredited advanced prosthodontics program within 6 months prior to the event are eligible. Dental students must be currently enrolled in a CODA-accredited DDS/DMD dental program in North America.

Deadlines:

Aug. 8 - Completed Abstract Submissions Due

Sept. 21 - Poster Submission Deadline (Accepted abstracts will be notified late August)

Along with the abstract submission participants must complete the COI form and be registered for the 2025 Annual Session by the abstract submission deadline.

Please read the submission guidelines carefully and submit your abstract through the online ePosters system. Abstracts are due by Aug. 8, 2025.
