2025 President's Award
The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Betsy Davis with the 2025 President's Award at the Annual Awards & President's Dinner held at the 55th Annual Session of the ACP, on Oct. 24 in New Orleans. This award recognizes outstanding vision and leadership.
Dr. Betsy Davis is the National Director for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Oral Oncology of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute for HCA Healthcare and Trident’s Head and Neck Specialists. She provides comprehensive care for cancer patients needing dental treatment. Dr. Davis completed her DDS at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Dental Medicine and completed her prosthodontic residency at the University of Iowa and a residency in implant prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthodontics at UCLA College of Dentistry. She completed her fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in maxillofacial prosthodontics. Following fellowship, she joined the faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and developed the MUSC Maxillofacial Prosthodontic Clinic. She served as the Wendy and Keith Wellin Endowed Chair in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Oral Oncology for 27 years.
She is a Past President of the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics (AAMP) and served as Chair of the Insurance Committee for both the American College of Prosthodontics and AAMP. She has been the AAMP’s representative to the ADA’s Dental Informatics Standards Committee and the ACP’s representative to the ADA’s Code Maintenance Committee, the Dental Quality Alliance, and the Snowdent Committee. She has received numerous prestigious awards from several esteemed dental organizations including the ACP’s 2021 Distinguished Clinician Award.
