2025 Educator of the Year Award
The American College of Prosthodontists (ACP) honored Dr. Konstantinos Michalakis with the 2025 Educator of the Year Award at the Annual Awards & President's Dinner held at the 55th Annual Session of the ACP, on Oct. 24 in New Orleans. This award recognizes exceptional skills as a dental educator.
Dr. Konstantinos Michalakis received his DDS from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He then completed a three year residency in prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He received his PhD in Dental Materials/Biomaterials from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, an MSc in Experimental and Translational Therapeutics from the University of Oxford in the UK, and a certificate of executive leadership for healthcare professionals from Cornell University. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Michalakis served as a tenured professor and Director of Graduate Prosthodontics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki School of Dentistry, as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. He currently serves as a professor and Chair of the Department of Restorative Sciences and Biomaterials at Boston University’s Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He also serves as a professor at Boston University’s Center for Multiscale and Translational Mechanobiology.
Dr. Michalakis has lectured extensively at national and international meetings and has authored more than 90 articles in high impact, peer reviewed journals. He serves in volunteer and leadership roles in several esteemed dental organizations.
