Sharry Competition: Now Accepting Applications

The John J. Sharry Prosthodontic Research Competition is held during the Annual Session of the American College of Prosthodontists. The 2017 competition will be held on Friday, Nov. 3 in San Francisco.

Sponsored by the ACP Education Foundation, the Sharry Competition is held to stimulate and acknowledge original research in prosthodontics by residents/students. The ACP Research Committee strongly encourages all programs to participate in this competition.

Abstracts are due by June 2. Please read the submission guidelines carefully.

Eligibility: Individuals are eligible if they are currently enrolled in a postdoctoral prosthodontic program or have completed such a program in the last three (3) years and are a member, in good standing, of the American College of Prosthodontists. Manuscripts must not have been previously accepted for publication and are eligible for publication in the Journal of Prosthodontics.

Finalists: The six selected finalists will receive one night hotel stay up to $300 and U.S. domestic airfare (booked 30 days in advance) up to $600 to present at the ACP Annual Session. Cash awards of $1250 for 1st place, $750 for 2nd place, and $500 for 3rd place will be presented to the finalists at the Resident & New Prosthodontist Reception (checks may be mailed following the meeting).
