Required Qualifications

1. DDS/DMD from a CODA accredited institution or equivalent foreign degree.

2. NYS dental license or eligibility.

3. Certificate in Prosthodontics from a CODA accredited postdoctoral program.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Board certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics (ABP).

2. PhD, MS or other advanced degree.

3. Experience with digital dentistry (CAD/CAM design and fabrication).

4. National recognition for scholarly and publication activity and participation in national organizations related to area of expertise. 

5. Greater than 3 years of clinical, teaching and administrative experience.

Responsibilities & Requirements

The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include clinical and didactic teaching of prosthodontics at the postdoctoral and predoctoral levels; research and productive participation in faculty practice and administrative responsibilities.  Candidates should demonstrate clear potential for academic growth in teaching, research, clinical practice and administration.  The individual should possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Special Notes

Tenure/Non-Tenure Track.  FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.  Internal and external search to occur simultaneously.   Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience.  To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Dental Medicine. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.

The Kornberg School of Dentistry, an innovative school with modern facilities and a large population of patients, is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position as a clinical-track Prosthodontist in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Major responsibilities include clinical and didactic teaching, and provision of care and supervision of cases with advanced prosthodontic treatment. Candidates must possess a DMD/DDS and eligibility for an unrestricted license to practice dentistry in Pennsylvania. Applicants must have completed advanced training in a CODA-approved prosthodontics program and be board qualified or certified by the American Board of Prosthodontics. Candidates should currently be an active clinician with minimal five years clinical experience in a prosthodontic practice, however an exceptional recent advanced program graduate would be considered. Candidates with teaching experience will be preferred. Salary is competitive with dental academic pay rates with an additional income that can be generated from one day a week of intramural or extramural practice.

Full-Time Faculty Position at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine

The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine (UPSDM) is accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure stream faculty position in the Department of Prosthodontics. The faculty rank of assistant professor, associate professor or professor will depend on experience and qualifications. The primary responsibilities include didactic and clinical instruction of dental students and residents, scholarly activities, and service. Participation in University Dental Health Services faculty practice is also available.

Applicants must have a DDS or DMD degree from a CODA accredited school and Board Certified or Board Eligible in Prosthodontics from the American Board of Prosthodontists. The applicant must be eligible for a Pennsylvania dental license. Preference will be given to those with additional training and experience. Application reviews will continue until the position is filled. Qualified candidates could also be considered to serve the role of Program Director for the Prosthodontics residency program.
