IRSM is an internationally recognized clinic and research institute primarily specializing in the reconstruction of the head and neck for patients who have undergone cancer surgery. Established in 1993, IRSM was founded through a partnership between Covenant Health, Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta. Based at the Misericordia Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, IRSM is an Integrated Practice Unit, meaning a dedicated, interdisciplinary team composed of surgeons, prosthodontists, researchers, healthcare practitioners, technicians and administrators working together to provide care to a patient for their full cycle of care. Patient’s full cycle of care encompasses outpatient, inpatient, and rehabilitative care as well as supporting services such as patient education, engagement, and patient follow-up. The successful candidate will be expected to be empathetic and dedicated to highest level of patient care.

Description:

The successful applicant will be based at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. This prosthodontist position will be employed by Covenant Health and will report to the Executive Director, IRSM. The Prosthodontist will primarily have clinical responsibilities within the IRSM team, which include but are not limited to provision of prosthodontic care involving both intraoral and extraoral treatment, and any ongoing management/modification of the care provided over the patient’s full cycle of care as defined above. The incumbent will be expected to adhere to any quality management system implemented by IRSM, and/or support other quality improvement or technology advancement initiatives trialed or implemented at IRSM. In this role, the successful candidate will need to effectively communicate and collaborate with highly trained technical and administrative staff as part of the established patient care pathways to delivery state-of-the-art prosthodontic care. Opportunities may be available to participate in digital surgical planning and participation in the OR. The prosthodontist will be required to contribute to service and administrative activities at IRSM as determined by the Executive Director, IRSM. Required Qualifications:

Undergraduate university degree in dentistry. DDS/DMD with subsequent specialty training in prosthodontics via a degree, certification and/or fellowship. Successful completion of a graduate specialty program in prosthodontics. Eligible for an active permit for prosthodontic clinical procedures with the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta.

Preferred Qualifications:

Applications are invited for a full-time Probationary (tenure-track) or tenured Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in the Division of Prosthodontics, Department of Restorative Dentistry at the Dr. Gerald Niznick College of Dentistry, University of Manitoba, Canada. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The appointment will commence on or before January 1, 2024, or as soon thereafter as possible.

The successful applicant at the rank of Assistant Professor level must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent and a certificate or equivalent of Prosthodontics specialty from an accredited postgraduate prosthodontics program. Demonstrated practice experience as well as a Master’s or PhD degree by the time of hire would be an asset. A strong preference for candidates with interest and experience with digital dentistry. Additional preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching and/or teaching innovation.

For appointment at the rank of Associate Professor, the applicant will also have experience in teaching at the graduate level, masters-level research experience, mentorship and evidence of a successful dossier in research, including peer-reviewed publications and success in obtaining grant funding. A masters-level degree is the minimal requirement for Associate Professor. Having a PhD qualification will be an asset.

Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Manitoba and be either Board Eligible in Canada or be a Fellow in the Royal College of Dentists of Canada see www.rcdc.ca. The candidate must be eligible to register for specialty licence with the Manitoba Dental Association (MDA).

  3. Check in during surgeries to provide prosthodontic guidance.
  4. Gather records at the end of surgery according to Nuvia's unique workflow and create lab prescriptions.
  5. Deliver next day permanent restorations to the previous day's surgical patient.
  6. See patients for various follow up appointments

This position is non-tenure track in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. We are seeking an experienced academic leader in dental education, who will build upon our established educational foundation and continue the mission of the Department and the College. Additionally, the individual should possess excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, experience in mentoring and leadership, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

The selected individual will have primary responsibilities in the supervision of pre-doctoral dental students. There will also be opportunities for research, course directorship, and faculty dental practice.

Candidates must have earned a DDS/DMD (or equivalent) degree, be eligible for licensure in Illinois, strong commitment to interdisciplinary care and willingness to engage other academic departments. Preferred candidates will have completed a formal training program in prosthodontics or GPR/AEGD program at a CODA accredited institution and must either be a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics or be Board Eligible and plan to complete the certification process. Preferred candidates will have demonstrated experience in teaching, mentoring, research and service. LSU Health New Orleans School of Dentistry Full-time Faculty Position

The School of Dentistry at Oregon Health & Science University is seeking an innovative, qualified and energetic individual for a full-time position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. We are especially seeking candidates with specialization in prosthodontics. Specific responsibilities will focus on teaching at the pre-doctoral level. The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service.

The duties of this position include: participation in the clinic and didactic education of the dental students as assigned by the Chair and Curriculum Committee. Desired: Demonstrated skills in prosthodontics, demonstrated skill in teaching dentistry at the university level, experience teaching at the preclinical level, and experience teaching and providing care in a clinic environment. Professional development in education and skills is expected by participating in study club activities and attending continuing education courses. Participation in scholarly activities is expected, with up to one day per week available. Collaboration in research opportunities is encouraged. Up to one day per week may be available for participation in direct patient care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Dental degree (DDS/DMD) from a CODA accredited school, or advanced training in a specialty program at a CODA accredited school.
  • Ability to obtain an Oregon dental license is required.
  • BLS/ACLS from the American Heart Association.
  • Experience in teaching, research, service, patient care, and academic management, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills are preferred.
  • Candidates should possess a DMD/DDS degree.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Individuals trained in prosthodontics are preferred, and such candidates must have completed an ADA approved residency in prosthodontics.
  • Membership and participation in professional societies in dentistry, dental research and/or dental education.
  • Demonstrated achievement in research including awards, extra-mural funding, and publications in peer reviewed journals.
  • Must be able to teach at the pre and post graduate levels.
