Education/Experience/Licensure:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental school (DDS/DMD) required.

Duties:

  • Diagnose and treatment plan All-on-X
  • Patient education on treatment options
  • Work with other providers (Prosthodontists and Oral Surgeons) to complete All-on-X treatment
  • High quality execution of all phases of prosthetic treatment
  • Build good rapport with patients and staff to ensure a successful and cohesive office
  • Delivery of prosthetics to the standards set forth by the practice

This is what a day in the life of a Restorative Doctor at Nuvia looks like:

  1. Reviewing patient info and cone beam CT scans to diagnose and treatment plan all-on-4 treatment
  2. Creating preoperative prosthodontic plans to communicate needs and collaborate with treating surgeon.
  3. Check in during surgeries to provide prosthodontic guidance.
  4. Gather records at the end of surgery according to Nuvia's unique workflow and create lab prescriptions.
  5. Deliver next day permanent restorations to the previous day's surgical patient.
  6. Follow up appointments

The biggest challenge of this position is managing your patient’s expectations while juggling both the digital and analog pieces of the AO4 workflow.

The College of Dentistry at The Ohio State University seeks a maxillofacial prosthodontist for a full-time, clinical track position as an associate professor or professor, in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry, with a joint appointment at Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center-Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute. The primary responsibilities of the position are performed in the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital’s Head and Neck Service at the Wexner Medical Center. The position’s duties include administrative and supervisory oversight of the professional and laboratory support staff; attending tumor board sessions; assisting in developing clinical protocols; and providing patients with the full scope of intraoral and extraoral maxillofacial prosthodontic care.

The College of Dentistry is one of Ohio State’s seven health science colleges. It is comprised of ten academic divisions, and it supports eight ADA-recognized dental specialty residencies, a General Practice Residency, and a PhD program in oral biology. The college is physically connected to the seven hospitals at the Wexner Medical Center, and it is the only state-supported dental school in Ohio. The college currently ranks 13th in the nation among U.S. dental schools for NIH funding.

The Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital is one of 45 National Comprehensive Cancer Hospitals, and it is the third largest cancer hospital in the U. S. The Head and Neck Service spans a broad range of disciplines that include medical and radiation oncologists; head and neck surgeons; maxillofacial prosthodontists; voice and swallowing specialists; molecular and biological pathologists; genetic scientists and more — all specializing in a specific type of head and neck cancer research, prevention, detection, treatment, and care.

Applicants must have a DDS/DMD degree or equivalent, in addition to certificates of advanced education in prosthodontics and maxillofacial prosthetics from CODA-accredited programs and be eligible for licensure by the Ohio State Board of Dentistry (dental.ohio.gov/Licensure/Dentist). Preference will be given to applicants that are board-certified and have significant clinical and administrative experience. Other duties of the position include serving as a preceptor for prosthodontic residents who rotate through the Head and Neck Service, providing clinical instruction in the College of Dentistry prosthodontic residency clinic, and participating as an active faculty member in College’s governance. Opportunities to engage in biomaterials, and clinical and translational research are also available.

Prosthodontic Faculty Position

West Virginia (Morgantown) -

West Virginia University School of Dentistry in Morgantown, WV is seeking applications for one full-time prosthodontics clinical track faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Determination of faculty salary and academic rank is within the purview of the Dean and Faculty Evaluation Committee and will commensurate with qualifications. The Department includes the disciplines of operative dentistry, prosthodontics (fixed, removable, and implant prosthodontics), and dental materials. West Virginia University Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center Campus includes the Schools of Dentistry, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Public Health. Located only 80 miles south of Pittsburgh, Morgantown is easily accessible to major metropolitan areas in the East and Midwest and has been named one of the best small cities in the U.S.

Responsibilities will include pre- and post-doctoral didactic and clinical teaching in prosthodontics, high quality scholarly activity, service related activities, and faculty practice. The following required qualifications must be met by the time of appointment:

  • DDS/DMD degree or foreign equivalent
  • Specialty certificate in Prosthodontics from an institution accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association
  • Hold board certification or be board eligible for the American Board of Prosthodontics
  • Eligibility to obtain a West Virginia dental license or West Virginia teaching permit. Please visit the West Virginia Board of Dental Examiners for information regarding licensure
  • Demonstrate effective written. verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Evidence of positive leadership skills
  • Strong commitment to diversity, collegiality, and social justice
  • To be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level, candidates must demonstrate a record of scholarly activity, service, and experience in prosthodontic education
