The College of Dentistry invites applications from qualified individuals for a full time tenure-track position in Prosthodontics. This position includes teaching, scholarly activity, and administrative work for 4 days a week, with one remaining day available for private clinical practice. The successful candidate will be required to deliver didactic, pre-clinical and clinical teaching; supervise student research projects; initiate, lead and participate in research activities; compete successfully for external funding to support their research program; and undertake relevant administrative activities including meetings and committee work. We seek candidates who possess the following attributes: postgraduate specialty training in Prosthodontics from a CODA or CDAC accredited postgraduate Certificate, Masters or PhD program; Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada or eligible to take the National Dental Specialty Examination; a strong or emerging research program; demonstrated effective classroom and clinical teaching skills and mentorship; and effective interpersonal and communication skills. Preference will be given to those who have passed the National Dental Specialty Examination in Prosthodontics administered by the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. Candidates must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the College of Dental Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CDSS) and are encouraged to familiarize themselves with Saskatchewan licensing requirements: https://www.saskdentists.com/licensing.
Salary bands for this position are as follows: Assistant Professor: $94,459 to $113,509; Associate Professor: $113,509 to $132,559; and Professor $132,559 to $154,784 Independent of rank, a starting salary above the standard salary bands is possible in rare and exceptional circumstances pursuant to Article 18.104.22.168 of the 2014-2017 USFA Collective Agreement (see: http://www.usaskfaculty.ca/?attachment_id=3298). The Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking qualified candidates for several full time open rank faculty positions in either the tenure or non-tenure clinical track to support and promote excellence in the Advanced Prosthodontic Sciences program. The Department seeks individuals with a strong commitment to interdisciplinary care and willingness to engage with all departments in the College.
Responsibilities are focused on all aspects of advanced specialty program instruction in the prosthodontics and the restorative sciences including all aspects of preclinical, didactic, clinical, implant and digital prosthodontics. Predoctoral teaching related to Prosthodontics may also be part of the responsibilities.
Qualifications include a DDS/DMD degree or foreign equivalent, eligible for licensure in Illinois, successful completion of a CODA accredited advanced education program in Prosthodontics, and prior teaching experience. Preferred qualifications include American Board of Prosthodontics Specialty Certification, one-year surgical implant fellowship experience. Candidates with demonstrated experience in teaching, mentoring, research and service are highly preferred.
For the tenure position additional qualifications are documented publication record, previous university-level teaching experience, successful record of obtaining external grant funding, leadership experience in an academic environment.
Salary, academic rank and tenure/non-tenured track will be commensurate with experience and qualifications within the norms and criteria for faculty appointments in the Department of Restorative Dentistry.
