Complete Dentures
Harry G. is an 80 year-old male who was referred to the Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics Clinic at NYU because of dissatisfaction with the esthetics and function of his current dentures.
In the past, he saw dentists infrequently and usually only for emergency treatment. He has received more regular dental care during his late adulthood, but still lost his remaining teeth due to decay. Because the supporting bone in his jaw was so poor he had difficulty with the existing dentures and sought out specialty care.
A new set of maxillary and mandibular complete dentures was successfully fabricated. The patient was highly satisfied with the look and feel of his new teeth. "I received multiple complements on my new look from my friends and family, and what’s even more important, I can chew," he said.
