First National Prosthodontics Awareness Week to be Celebrated in 2010

The Board of Directors of the College is pleased to announce a brand new initiative of the Board of Directors, Regional Directors and Section Officers: National Prosthodontics Awareness Week (NPAW)!

The Board charged the NPAW Task Force to develop this initiative to enhance public awareness of the discipline of prosthodontics. NPAW is designed to be a grassroots member driven program that will help to meet this need. National Prosthodontics Awareness Week (NPAW) was officially recognized by Illinois Governor Pat Quinn through a proclamation declaring March 7 through 13 National Prosthodontics Awareness Week.

The NPAW Task Force has developed a toolkit that Sections and Members can use to support this exciting, new ACP initiative-- complete with action plans and templates for press releases, letters, proclamations, and public service announcements.

A month by month Action Plan Checklist has been developed for Members, Sections, Dental Programs/Students and the Prosthodontic Forum. Everyone is encouraged to review these plans. View the draft Action Plans here.

A special Regional Meet and Greet will be held at the Annual Session in San Diego on Saturday, November 7, 7:30 - 9:00 am. During this meeting Regional Directors will review the Action Plans and Section Officers will work with their members to leverage this awareness at the local level. National Prosthodontics Awareness Week preparation will require every member to create their own personal action plans. Every Section will be looking for member champions to spread the word about National Prosthodontics Awareness Week.  Will you be a champion for NPAW?
