Porcelain Veneers: Preparation, Fabrication, Adhesion

Porcelain Veneers: Preparation, Fabrication, Adhesion
10:30 – 11:05 A.M.
Mutlu Özcan, Prof. Dr. Med. Dent., PhD
University of Zurich, Switzerland

Following this session, the attendee should be able to:

  • Discuss preparation and fabrication methods of veneers.
  • Describe surface conditioning methods and working mechanisms for veneers.
  • Identify clinical sequence of adhesion protocols for cementation and repair.

Due to the advances in adhesive technologies and ceramic materials, indication of veneers became an integral part of minimal invasive dentistry that significantly saves dental tissues compared to full coverage crowns. However, meticulous preparation, fabrication, and adhesion procedures are essential for their longevity. This lecture will highlight the fundamental principles of these aspects and report on longevity data.
